Five Star Deal and it’s pretty easy to get done.
Residents of Arizona, California, and Colorado can get a free iPod Touch, Garmin, or Kindle e-reader when you sign up for a bank account at efirstbank.com. I would personally advise getting the iPod Touch as this is worth the most and costs $199. They limit the offer to one per household. My wife and I both signed up and I used my parents address for her, so we ended up getting two of them. It is actually a very simple bank promotion compared to some of the other ones out there.
Basically you just need to sign up for a checking account and meet one requirement.
1. One direct deposit greater than $300
OR
Three bill payments are made from the new account to three separate corporate entities using their billpay service.
I simply changed my direct deposit at my work so $300.01 would go into my efirstbank account, and the remainder would continue to go into my regular bank account. I received the code shortly after this and then re-adjusted my direct deposit so no more money was going into that bank account. You just have to leave the account open for 6 months and then you can close it. I took all of the money out of the ATM and left about $45.00 in there until it was time to close it.
Note, once you meet the requirement, they will send you a redemption code to your account messages section when you log inside efirstbank.com. Note that you don’t receive an email saying “You have a new message waiting for you inside of your efirstbank online account”. And they also give you a 30 day window to use the redemption code, so they are kind of shady about this part. It is also considered interest so you will have to pay taxes on it at the end of the year.
I went into the branch to open up my account as there is one close to my house. You can open them up online as well. When I went in, I told her I didn’t want any extra services at all, and she honored my request for the most part. I did get a $20.00 charge a few months after opening my account for a “Cash Reserve Annual Fee”. I emailed their support and told them I asked for no extra features that would cause fees when I signed up and Teresa Martinez promptly refunded them. She has been the one who has replied the few times I have written in so they must only have one person that handles Internet requests, but she has always been prompt and accurate.
